Once more, I'm back from....wherever it is I've disappeared too, though this time I have a lot to write about.
Anyway, here are some random thoughts...
* Why in the world do I get 60 or so junk mail each day (not everyday but often enough)?? Really, it makes me want to abandon my e-mail address.... It really is a pain!
* The average person does not wash their hands long enough....best time to wash your hands is for 26 seconds. Yep, 26 seconds!! So...next time you turn on the tap to wash your hands...start singing the alphabet in your head, or maybe the Happy Birthday song!
* I play FFXI to have fun, not to make friends. I don't need to know the intimate details of your life. If you are having a bad day, I may offer sympathy but I don't need to be your counsellor. I am no ones mom, or big sister in-game. I don't need that stress. I'm just another adventurer who wants to get things done.
Do not impose your personal problems on to me, I can not and will not solve them for you. I cannot tell you how to deal with your emotions. I cannot be that emotional crutch you are looking for. Whatever answers you seek come from within yourself, that is part of growing up. Is that cold? Maybe. Too bad I'm just too nice to {blacklist} the kid.
* I like flowers. Too bad I'm allergic.
* Another valued member of the community has passed away, another person I have worked closely with - a community activist, and a pioneer in psychiatry for the multi-cultural community. I remember going to his home for meetings and he and his wife were always welcoming and generous in their hospitality. He has lived a good life though, and I know he will be remembered for all the good he has done for his profession, as well as for the community.
* A 16 year old Chinese girl in the U.S. has committed matricide and will be tried in court as an adult. Should she be tried as an adult? Issues of her mental health are in question, as a result of emotional abuse she may have suffered. Generational gaps and cultural tensions between the girl and her parents have also been brought into the discussion. I think the question is, can she be rehabilitated? And if so, will she be able to get it in the adult penitentiary system, or will the juvenile system be more beneficial?
* My new work place has the tradition of starting off each event with a reflection. I think its a great idea, and a great reminder for everyone to pause each day or week and "reflect" on your thoughts or occurrences that may have happened. I guess you could say my reflection for this week is in this blog.
