So here it is weeks after the Gala, and I was thinking that the dizziness, fatigue, sniffing and sneezing symptoms I have were due to a cold. Afterall, I have been known to ALWAYS get sick either just before, during or after a big event. It never fails. So it had to be a cold right? Or maybe I'm just too stressed and my body is tired. It happens, right?
Never, did it ever cross my mind that I would be suffering from allergy symptoms, in the middle of February. Yep, February, where the weather is supposed to be nippy, Winter coats and gloves are supposed to be normal attire, and frost, not flowers, should have been on people's minds. But after hearing Dr. Blatherwick on the news say that it is an early allergy season (lo and behold Vancouver breaking the sunshine record and temperature record!) , it seemed to begin to make sense to me. Maybe I am suffering from allergies. It would explain the slightly swollen tongue and eyes and the length this "cold" has been literally draaaging on.
Unfortunately, unlike most people, I would not gladly accept the sun and warm weather in place of winter cold and snow. Unlike most people, I welcome Fall and Winter's cold weather and moisture as it is the only time of the year where I can go out and enjoy the outdoors, or even eat certain foods without worrying too much about cross reactions. Anyone who is close to me, understands the misery I go through once allergy season comes, so I hope you will accept my griping about a shortened Winter season.
Unfortunately, due to the nice warm weather we are having now, I have taken out my air purifier, months earlier than I thought I would need to, (have started taking anti-histamines 24/7 and am now back to restricting my diet even more because of extra sensitivity to pollen.
We barely even had a Winter and now they want us to welcome Spring??? Well, thanks but no thanks. I'd rather have cold weather and the clear sinuses that go with it.
But since that's not possible...I guess I'll just have to keep that air purifier on, and contiue to hope for rain. Until then, I'll be hiding in my room.
Thanks for letting me gripe. :)
