So I've had a pretty rough weekend.
It actually started out alright, staying up late Friday night, sleeping in Saturday morning and waking up making breakfast for me and hubby. Its something I like to do Saturday morning - make something nice for us to eat and spend some time together. Its a very nice way to start the morning, as that time is just all about us.
Of course, that was interrupted not even half-way through breakfast, by a horrible pain in my abdomen that pretty much incapacitated me quickly...started as manageable and escalated to...
a big fat 10 on the pain meter...
Everyone knows that pain meter...1 for little or no pain at all, to 10 as the biggest pain you've ever felt.
In other words, I was in so much pain I could barely move, hubby could not move me. I ended up on the kitchen floor curled up in a ball in my pjs. So I ended up taking a nice trip to the local ER, in my pj's, in an ambulance for the very first time (I've been to the ER before, just never in an ambulance). Of course, I was in too much pain at the time, and my eyes were shut tight, to notice the novelty. The paramedics were very nice though.
I ended up staying there all day, got home a little after 7:00 pm. And what was the diagnosis? The ER doctor didn't really say...could have been food poisoning, or stomach flu.
So I went to my family doctor and what did she say?
Stomach flu! A horrible, horrible, nasty stomach flu! Hubby had it before me, guess I caught it from him. But supposedly, I am lucky, says my doctor. Mine only lasted a few days, others have had it for a week. I'm not sure which is worse....prolonged flu for a week with full blown symptoms (nausea, vomitting, fever, chills, muscle pain, abdominal cramps etc), or just one day of horrible horrible pain (so horrible I literally wanted to pass out).
But I am better now, aside from a still-sensitive stomach.
So what's the point of this blog? Beware of that stomach flu! Apparently its getting around!
As for me? I dread what my next 10 on the pain meter would feel like...stupid horrible flu!
I guess it could have been worse...it could have been a breathing emergency..... stupid stupid allergies....

Poor twin, always getting sick. Well at least you enjoyed yummy oysters at the sushi place, and your tummy wasn't too grumbly! And we had tasty dessert too!
Mmmm, that was yummy! We need to go back and try the other stuff on the menu!
