Carbuncle's weekend

Poor Carbuncle has had a rough weekend, from being jostled around in a plastic bag, not knowing what was happening. Where was he going? What was going to happen to him? And out he came from a little bag into a little vase (well, bigger than what he was in before). Then hours later, splashed into a different, bigger home!! How scary!

But at least the little guy now has room to swim around, gets fed regularly, and 2 owners to look after it (one of which is particularly doting -> me!).

Although betta fish are ok in any kind of environment, they are tropical fish and their native environment is a pond (don't believe me? Look it up on Wikipedia!). They tend to be more active (and prefer) warmer water (27 - 30 degrees Celcius). But we didn't have a heater for the tank, so silly me kept heating up a heat pad in the microwave on the weekend and hugging the fish bowl with it. Carbuncle seemed to like it as he ended up hugging the side with the heat and was swimming a little more. What a happy fella!

We'll try to get you a better home soon. At least I think he's liking us more. He comes out from his hiding spot a little more often now, and looks at us now and again. It's like peekaboo! I see you!

I think Carbuncle is going to be spoiled....

I still like the kitty, but Carbuncle is cute too. Yes, the poor fishy. I was wondering if it would survive the trip home with speed bumps and noisy engine. Will you have time to set up Carbuncle's home even while shopping with me?
